NATIONAL FEDERATIONS GOVERNANCE AND TOOLS

Current Opportunities

GENERAL GOVERNANCE TOOLS FOR WORLD BOXING NATIONAL FEDERATIONS

National Federations (NFs) are key to the delivery of boxing in their countries. They are responsible for developing boxing from grassroots participation to elite international competition and for administering the sport in accordance with World Boxing rules and values.

Given the increasing complexity of sport governance, NFs should continuously modernise their structures and operations. Strengthening governance, professionalising administration, and improving organisational systems help NFs develop a culture of excellence that supports the growth of boxing nationally and internationally.

World Boxing recognises that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Member NFs vary significantly in terms of history, size, resources, staffing, membership, number of clubs, coaches, officials, boxers, and competitions. These Governance Tools should therefore be applied with consideration for the specific circumstances of each NF. We also recommend that you check with other NF as well as with the tools available in the reference at the end of this document

WORLD BOXING GOVERNANCE SELF-ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRE

This basic self-assessment questionnaire should highlight the areas where you need further work. For starting NF focus on certain areas might be premature. World Boxing will put in place a monitoring of the national federations based on these basic questions.
