ANTI-DOPING AND ITA

Anti-Doping

World Boxing is committed to clean sport.

It voluntarily accepts and adopts the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code and has delegated its entire clean sport activities to the the International Testing Agency (ITA) which provides all of World Boxing’s anti-doping services including:

  • In-competition and out-of-competition testing
  • Independent results management
  • The management of Athlete Biological Passports (ABPs) for boxers and the processing of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs)
  • Investigations and responses to information shared confidentially through the ITA’s secure reporting platform REVEAL
  • The design and delivery of an anti-doping education plan to support the values of clean sport and contribute to the prevention of doping, in-line with WADA’s International Standard for Education

All of the clean sport activities delivered by the ITA on behalf of World Boxing are in strict compliance with the WADA Code and its International Standards, with the ITA’s dedicated Regulatory Compliance unit ensuring full compliance with the mandatory rules. Any potential anti-doping rule violations arising from the anti-doping program are subject to independent results management by the ITA.

In the event of an anti-doping violation arising, World Boxing has agreed to delegate adjudication to the Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS AAD), a separate entity of the CAS which deals solely with Anti-doping hearings.

It means that CAS ADD is the first instance authority to adjudicate on all alleged violations (detected by the ITA anti-doping processes delivered on behalf of World Boxing) and will decide on the appropriate sanction for any breach of the rules. World Boxing will abide by any decision issued by CAS AAD.

By delegating its testing and education program to the ITA and the adjudication process to CAS ADD, all of its member National Federations and their boxers, can be sure that World Boxing is doing everything possible to promote and deliver clean sport and that all activities and decisions in this area are free of interference and subject to independent third-party oversight.

In the fight for clean sport every piece of information is important as it helps to uncover doping and catch cheaters and through its agreement with the ITA, World Boxing has access to the ITA’s doping reporting platform REVEAL.

REVEAL is a centralized and highly secure confidential platform where you can share information about doping suspicion in a completely anonymous and secure manner – managed independently by the International Testing Agency (ITA). As well, REVEAL includes the ability to provide information about doping in sport via WhatsApp and via secure email. Every piece of information is important in the fight for clean sport and through REVEAL you can support the investigation of anti-doping rule violations or criminal behaviour.

Anyone who is wondering if their information is important enough, has doubts that it is relevant, or is afraid of sharing it can be assured that any details supplied via the platform will be treated as confidential. Anyone that wants to report any suspicions or anti-doping concerns can access the REVEAL platform at the link below.
