Four gold medals each for Kazakhstan, USA and Uzbekistan at 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok

Kazakhstan, USA and Uzbekistan each won four gold medals on the final day of action at the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok.

Twenty finals took place on a pulsating day of U19 action at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in the Thai capital, which also saw one boxer each from England, France, Georgia, India, Italy, Ukraine and Samoa land a gold medal.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan topped the overall medal table with eleven each, followed by the USA with nine and India who won five. In total, 25 nations were represented on the final medal table which can be viewed HERE.

In a similar vein to last year’s senior World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were especially dominant in the men’s competition where they won six of the 10 gold medals.

The medals were spread more evenly in the women’s weights where eight countries won gold.

The World Boxing Futures Cup ran for eight days and saw 435 bouts take place in 10 male and 10 female weight categories. All of the results from every day of action and all other tournament information is available HERE.

Gold medal bouts confirmed after blockbuster penultimate day of 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup

Sunday’s finals are confirmed following thirty-eight semi-final bouts on day seven of action in Bangkok.

There will be an all-Oceania final in the women’s 80kg+ category. Francis Taafaki represents Tuvalu, one of the smallest nations in the world, and secured their place courtesy of a victory against Vietnam’s Thi Quynh Anh Le. Taafaki will face Samoa’s Kealey Perez in the final.

Elsewhere, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan continued to show good form, both earning seven victories as they battle to top the overall medal table. USA weren’t far behind with five wins on Saturday, followed by India with four and Ukraine with three.

Japan and France athletes secured two wins with the remaining semi-finals going the way of boxers from England, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia and tournament hosts Thailand who all have one boxers each in tomorrow’s finals.

Fifty-six boxers guaranteed at least a bronze medal after quarter finals of World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok

Day six of the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup saw more than fifty quarter final bouts take place as boxers fought for a semi-final spot.

It means that 56 boxers are guaranteed at least a bronze medal as the competition heads into its final two days of action.

Uzbekistan’s boxers continued their good form on Friday and picked-up seven wins to add to the semi-final place it secured on day five. India and USA saw five of their athletes progress to Saturday’s semi-finals and were the second-best performing nations on the day.

China, France, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Japan and Morocco earnt three wins while England, Mexico, Romania, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan trailed closely with two of their boxers respectively having their hand raised.

Super-heavyweights from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are first boxers to guarantee a place in the final as preliminaries come to a close on busy day of action at 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok

Day five of the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok featured 71 bouts including the first semi-finals of the competition which saw Uzbekistan’s Islam Salikhov and Vladislav Samozhonov of Kazakhstan book their place in the Sunday’s super-heavyweight (M90kg+) final.

Salikhov’s win was the highpoint of a good for Uzbekistan which picked-up the most victories on a blockbuster day of action as eight of their boxers progressed to the next round of the competition.

Kazakhstan and USA delivered strong showings with six successes, followed by France, Morocco and Ukraine with four.

Today’s action saw the preliminary rounds come to a close, with all of tomorrow’s bouts now at the quarter final stage, meaning the winner of each contest will secure at least a bronze medal.

Kazakhstan guarantee first medal of 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup

The first medal of the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup has been guaranteed by Kazakhstan’s Vladislav Samozhonov courtesy of his victory on the fourth day of boxing in Bangkok.

Samozhonov won via stoppage in the competition’s first quarter final against New Zealand’s Te Ani Rakete. The win sets up a semi-final with USA’s Caleb Stewart Reid in the men’s super-heavyweight (M90kg+) category. Morocco’s Mohamed Amine Wahbi will take on Islam Salikhov of Uzbekistan in the other semi-finals after the pair both received byes.

Wednesday also saw 64 preliminary stage fights held across two rings. Japan put in a perfect performance with all their athletes picking up wins. Ryusei Kitamura (M55kg), Kenshiro Moko (M70kg), Kenshin Sakuno (M60kg), Kunimitsu Honjo (M65kg) and Akira Uekubo (M50kg) led Japan to five wins, the most of any nation.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were the next best performers with four wins, followed by hosts Thailand, India, Ukraine and USA with three victories each.

India and USA enjoy success on day three of 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok

India and the USA both enjoyed success on day three of the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok as both countries saw five of their boxers make it through to the next round of the competition.

For India, Joyshree Devi Chirom (W54kg) and Prachi Prachi (W60kg) both won via stoppages while Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari (W51kg) and Ambekar Meetei Lairenlakpam (M50kg) enjoyed unanimous victories. Gunjan Gunjan (W48kg) secured India’s fifth win of the day via split decision.

For the USA, Guadalupe Ruiz (W54kg), Liana Nonhphala (W48kg), Ruby Lopez (W51kg) and Refugio Veloz Medrano (M50kg) secured unanimous victories while Kaylee Aguilar (W60kg) progressed via walkover.

Other nations to enjoy success on day three included Japan and Uzbekistan who both saw four of their boxer’s progress to the next round. Mexico and Romania were the next best performers with three boxers each making it through to the next stage.

First two days of action at 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup sees Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, Japan, Ukraine and Australia enjoy multiple successes

More than 100 male and female boxers have competed in the first two days of action at the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand.

The competition is part of the qualification pathway for the Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar, Senegal in November of this year and is open to boxers born between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2009.

53 bouts took place on the first day of action which saw four boxers from Uzbekistan progress to the next round of the competition followed closely by Kazakhstan, India, Japan and Australia who each had three wins.

Day two saw 63 bouts across the Women’s 57kg category and Men’s 55kg, 60kg and 65kg classes. Ukraine and Kazakhstan both enjoyed success with four wins while Uzbekistan continued its strong start with three more victories.

Over 450 boxers from 78 National Federations registered to compete at World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok

OVER 450 boxers from more than 78 National Federations are registered to take part in the World Boxing Futures Cup, which begins on Sunday 8 March 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The tournament, which is being delivered by World Boxing and the Thailand Boxing Association, will run until Sunday 15 March 2026 and is part of the qualification pathway for boxers to be able to participate in the Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar, Senegal in November of this year.

The World Boxing Futures Cup is an U19 tournament so to be eligible to compete all boxers must have been born between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2009.

The competition will feature action at ten weight classes for both male and female boxers, with National Federations able to register one athlete at each category.

When the action gets underway on Monday 8 March, it will be a two-ring set-up at the Indoor Stadium Huamark with two sessions per day culminating in one session of gold medal bouts on the final day.
