World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025 Semi Finals Begin on Day 4

April 4, 2025

Day four of the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025 finished on Thursday inside Rafain Palace Hotel and Convention in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. After 24 bouts, half of the event’s semi final competition was determined, with just two days of action to go in the opening tournament of the year within the World Boxing Cup series.

Thursday’s competition featured 24 bouts across two sessions, setting up the gold medal matches for 12 weight classes. Poland led the way on Thursday and secured five wins, four of which came on the women’s side. Great Britain earned four wins throughout the day, three men and one woman, while Uzbekistan notched four wins on the men’s side of the competition.

Italy has been consistently strong among the women’s competitors and sent a trio of those athletes into title bouts on day four. Brazil claimed two victories from its men’s contingent, including a decisive 4-1 win from Paris 2024 Olympian Luiz Oliveira in the men’s 60kg division.

Argentina, Australia, France, India, Norway and the USA each earned one victory on the day, closing out the list of national federations that gained a win during day four.

Among some of the more impressive performances throughout Thursday’s schedule, Poland’s Pawel Brach (60kg) closed out his bout against India’s Sachin after a quick start in the opening round. Brach employed a powerful body shot in the first round and claimed the victory after the India staff threw in the towel between rounds one and two.

Brazil’s Kaue Belini (75kg) also ended his bout early and registered a knockout against Italy’s Remo Salvati in bout 21. Belini secured the stoppage in the opening round, setting up the gold medal bout against Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboev on Saturday, April 5.

Day five of the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025 will feature just one session, beginning at 18:00 BRT. Each bout will be broadcast live on the World Boxing YouTube channel, linked here.

Detailed information including draws, schedules and images will be uploaded to the official event website.
