10 places at Paris 2024 up for grabs as Africa Qualification Tournament enters semi-final stages

TEN women will qualify for Paris 2024 today when the semi-finals of the Africa Qualification Tournament take place at the Dakar Arena in the capital of Senegal.

The places are on offer in five of the women’s weight categories, where two boxers can qualify at each class.

The first women with the chance to qualify for Paris will box in the bantamweight category (54kg), followed by the lightweight (60kg) class. The afternoon session’s quota places will come from the women’s light-flyweight (50kg), featherweight (57kg) and welterweight categories (66kg).

The men’s competition will see seven semi-finals take place today.  The winners will have a chance to secure a place at Paris 2024 in tomorrow’s finals.
