Margot Foster (AUS)

Margot Foster AM OLY is an international sports governance, ethics and integrity specialist with extensive experience supporting International Federations and Olympic sport organisations. She is a member of World Boxing’s Ethics Commission and has played an active role in ensuring transparent, fair and credible governance processes within the organisation.

Margot has served as Chair or member of election bodies for several International Federations, including World Athletics, World Sailing, World Taekwondo and the International Paralympic Committee. She has also contributed to governance standards across Olympic sport as a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) Governance Task Force. Alongside her international work, she advises sports organisations on governance, constitutional reviews, board development and decision-making frameworks, drawing on more than 30 years of legal experience.

A former elite rower, Margot won a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and a gold medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. She is a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of her significant contribution to sports governance, women’s sport and her achievements as an athlete.

Through her work in governance, ethics and elections, Margot brings independent judgement, procedural rigour and extensive international experience to support fair, transparent and accountable decision-making within World Boxing.

Kirsty Burrows (GBR)

Kirsty Burrows is Associate Director of Safe Sport within the International Olympic Committee’s Health, Medicine and Science Department, where she leads global initiatives in safeguarding, athlete welfare, governance and integrity across the Olympic Movement. She has more than 15 years of international experience working with International Federations, National Olympic Committees and major sporting events to strengthen governance systems, protect athletes and promote safe sport.

Before joining the IOC, Kirsty founded Sports Rights Solutions, an advisory consultancy supporting international sports organisations on governance reform, safeguarding systems, education strategy and institutional integrity. Throughout her career, she has designed and delivered education programmes, governance frameworks and safeguarding initiatives that have been implemented across federated sports organisations worldwide.

Kirsty serves on a number of international expert groups, including FIFA’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Working Group, the IOC Working Group on Safeguarding and Mental Health in Esports and Gaming, and the Council of Europe/European Union Joint Programme on Child Safeguarding in Sport. She is also an ex officio Board Member of International Safeguards for Children in Sport and has contributed to several IOC International Consensus panels on mental health, holistic youth development and interpersonal violence.

She holds an International Master’s degree in Law, Management and Humanities of Sport and a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, and is currently completing a PhD focused on public health approaches to interpersonal violence and localised governance.

Prof. Norihide Ishido (JPN)

Dr Norihide Ishido is a Professor at Chukyo University in Japan and Head of the Department of Sport Management. A recognised expert in sports law, governance and integrity, he has dedicated his career to promoting good governance and the protection of athletes within sport.

Dr Ishido serves as Chair of the Compliance Committee of the Japan Boxing Federation and holds several leadership positions across the sports sector, including Vice President of the Japan Para Table Tennis Association, Vice Commissioner of the Legal Affairs Commission of the Japan Olympic Academy and Arbitrator at the Japan Sports Arbitration Agency. He is also a Board Member of the Japan Sports Law Association and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA).

His academic work focuses on sports law, governance, safeguarding, integrity, anti-doping and human rights in sport. He has authored and edited numerous books and publications on these subjects, including Legal Issues Surrounding the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Legal Responses to Doping, and has presented his research at international conferences around the world.
Dr Ishido has completed advanced studies in law and sports governance, including programmes at Griffith University, the University of Virginia, Harvard Law School, the Sports Governance Academy and the International Olympic Committee, reflecting his ongoing commitment to strengthening governance and integrity in sport.

Daniel Pitt (WAL)

Dan Pitt began boxing at 12 years old at Brecon Phoenix ABC in Wales where he initially balanced his training with a promising rugby career. His dedication and talent in boxing quickly set him apart and in 2024, he won the U19 World Boxing Championships in Colorado USA. In July 2026, he will represent Wales at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Alongside his competitive success, Dan is pursuing a degree in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage at Cardiff Met University and is an active volunteer at the Cardiff Met University Boxing Club and his local club in Brecon, Wales. In 2025, he was elected by his peers to become part World Boxing’s Athletes Committee, which is responsible for representing the views of boxers worldwide and providing advice, guidance and opinions to World Boxing.
